Agrasen ki Baoli - Hidden inside heart of Delhi

Agrasen ki Baoli (Baoli ka kua- a generic name called by local people), designated a protected monument by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) under the Ancient Monuments and Archeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958, is a 60-meter long and 15-meter wide historical step well on Hailey Road near Connaught Place, a short walk Baraghambha Road in New Delhi, India.

This place is untouched by general crowd and a perfect spot for portfolio shoots, or spending evenings with close friends.

The walls are symmetrical yet very symbolic. The place was supposed to be a well (Kua in Hindi) where the king / queen come to take bath in ancient times.

One thing is sure, you wont get lonely here, as it is a home of loads of pigeons and Bats.

Some scene of the famous Bollywood movie (Rang-De-Basanti) was also shoot here.

In Short amazing place and a must visit.

In case you wish to add on something, you are most welcome. Any questions or feedback is also welcomed. The sole purpose is to make you aware of this place.

  1. Nice pictures. Baoli is said to be filled with Black water once. Rumor has it that it attracted the depressed hearts towards itself and hypnotized them to jump into the water. Every time when it absorbed someone, the water level raised. Check out more about Agrasen ki baoli.
